TECSUN AN-200 Tunable Passive Loop FM radio AM Antenna for MW Medium wave

Product Description:

The Tecsun AN200 tunable indoor AM loop antenna can dramatically improve the reception on AM (Medium Wave) stations throughout the entire AM broadcasting band. This AM Antenna enhances reception as well as adds clarity to the ferrite AM antennas that are included with all home stereo receivers and portable radios. The AN200′s loop design offers you the reception that normally would only be achieved with a very long wire hooked up directly to your radio. With the AN200, it will work on all portable radios without wires attached. The Kaito AN200 features a built-in tuning dial that allows precision tuning to the appropriate station and the selectivity to block out unwanted stations and noise; which without the antenna would crowd or “bleed” into the desired signal. The antenna can also be adjusted by physically turning the loop in the direction of the station’s broadcasting and pointing it directly at the station. One of the best features of this antenna is the possibilities of using selective tuning, loop adjustment and radio dialing. The AN200 Loop Antenna will give you an added dimension to your AM radio by giving you better reception, clearer sound, better clarity of the stations you already get and enhancement of stations that would otherwise be drowned out. The Kaito AN200 AM Medium Wave Loop Antenna is a passive (NO power requirements) radiant device that works by either placing it next to the portable radio’s internal AM rod antenna or by connecting it to larger desktop radios that have AM antenna terminals by using the included 1/8″ to bare wire cable

Feedback:

*Review by MrRadio915 “MrRadio915″ : Professional user, very pleased
*I work at an AM Radio station where we need to monitor another station for the Emergency Alert System. Prior to purchasing the Kaito AN200, we had a powered tunable antenna which regularly gave us problems. This antenna has worked flawlessly since we installed it and for the first time, we’ve been able to clearly listen to the distant station in the shadow of our own tower. As a radio professional, I can highly recommend this antenna.

*Review by A. Pirog : What every AM radio listener should have
*I would recommend this item to anyone that needs a good antenna for any AM radio they own or use. Once I connected the wire to my receiver and antenna I started picking up more stations than before I used this antenna on my receivers AM radio. some of the stations came in crystal clear and others still had static and other noise when tuned to a station and the knob is also a great feature on this product so you can make the signal stronger or weaker for each station you listen to. The only thing I can complain about with this antenna is that the wire that gets connected to the receiver/radio and antenna is too short and should be longer. Overall a great buy and worth what I paid for it.

*Review by bqb : Works great
*I have a tabletop AM/FM HD Radio that came with an external 4″ square AM loop antenna. That stock antenna is fine for a few AM stations, but I couldn’t pick up the HD signal from the one I wanted. Only the analog signal was strong enough. With the AN-200 I first tried the “wireless” coupling method, and was very surprised that it had a significantly positive impact on all AM signals with proper tuning. I had been very skeptical that method would show any significant gain.
However, with this method I was still unable to get the HD signal for the station I wanted. I connected the AN-200 directly to the radio in place of the stock antenna, and now I receive the HD signal at full strength!
I like the aesthetics of this antenna, but because the wires (the red band) are part of that aesthetic, they moved around a little bit in shipping. No big deal, just a minor bit of bunching up. I gently flattened them with my fingers and firmly rapped the antenna against my hand to get them centered. The antenna has a lip around both edges to keep them otherwise in place, and they are firmly wound so that they won’t jump over that lip unless you push them over. The product description says it’s a 9″ antenna, but I still wasn’t prepared for the size! I’m glad I got this instead of the Terk just because it has a more interesting appearance.

How to use:

1.Connect the AN-100 medium wave annular antenna to the audio modulator, car radio or medium wave line-in socket of BCL radio. If the radio without medium wave line-in socket, the annular antenna can be placed nearby the radio and closed to the radio’s MWuild-in antenna.
2.Set the radio at medium wave band. Then roll the tunable button on AN-100 medium wave annular antenna to receive the best frequency signal until the sound from broadcasting channel is clear and stable.
