How to Build an Amplified TV Antenna

If you have an amplified TV antenna, you usually receive a much stronger signal than with a regular antenna. A pre-amplifier provides extra power to enhance the signal from the antenna to your house. A distribution amplifier gives your signal the strength necessary to travel to every TV in your house. Utilize both types of TV antenna amplifiers to ensure that the signal does not lose power as it travels through cable lines to your television.Things You'll Need
* Pre-amplifier
* One U-bolt
* Two RG6 coaxial cable
* Two rubber boots
* Distribution amplifier
* One short cable
Instructions
1.Use the U-bolt to fasten your pre-amplifier to your TV antenna mast. This helps you catch the signal when it is strongest and increases it so it maintains strength while traveling through the cable line.
2.Connect one end of a RG6 coaxial cable to your television antenna, and the other end to the part of your pre-amplifier that says Antenna In.
3.Install one rubber boot over your pre-amplifier over the side that says Antenna In. Run another RG6 coaxial cable from the Antenna Out side of your pre-amplifier. Place the other rubber boot over this to protect the connection.
4.Connect the other end of your RG6 coaxial cable to the "Input" area on your distribution amplifier. Have this connection established before you reach the junction box, usually located in an attic or crawl space.
5.Use a single short cable to run from the Output area on your distribution amplifier to the "Input" on your junction box. This amplifies the signal to every TV in your home.
