How to Program a Radius P100 Radio

Date:2014/10/27 14:18:22 Hits:
The portable Motorola Radius CP100 two-way radio allows two or more parties to communicate with each other over a large area, such as a construction site or a heavily wooded space. Upon receiving your device, you may have a few questions about its basic programming needs. In a few steps, you can power your device before programming by installing batteries, set the "VOX" sensitivity for your internal microphone, scan for available channels in your area, and program channels to preset buttons.

Instructions

1.Turn the CP100 over onto its face, and press down while pushing back on the ribbed surface of the battery chamber cover to slide the cover off. Install four AA batteries into the battery chamber, matching the polarity indicators printed on the inside of the chamber. Improperly installed batteries will render the CP100 useless. Snap the battery cover chamber cover into place.

2.Set the "VOX" (Voice Operated Relay) sensitivity for your microphone by pressing the "Menu" button (the button located in the center of your front panel keypad) until you see the "Talking" icon appear. The current sensitivity level appears next to the "Talking" icon. Press the "Up" or "Down" key (located above and below the "Menu" button on the front panel) to select either "1" (low sensitivity), "2" (medium sensitivity), or "3" (high sensitivity).

3.Push the "Z" button (located to the right of the "Up" button on the front panel) to scan for a channel. The CP100 display scans for channels in your area. Scanning pauses on channels that it finds, displaying information about the channel such as signal strength. Press the "Z" button to initialize scanning onto the next channel. Stop scanning by pushing the "Z" button while scanning is in progress.

4.Push and hold the "PTT" button (which stands for "Push-to-Talk" and is located on the left edge of your CP100) and the "Z" button for three seconds. You will hear a beep and the display will show "PROG." Push the "Up" or "Down" button to locate the desired channel you wish to memorize. Push and hold down the "*" button or the "**" button (located to the left and right of the "Menu" button) to assign the channel to one of the buttons. You will hear a confirmation beep when the channel is saved and you can release the button. Push and hold down the "PTT" button to exit "Programming Mode."
